The Red Clay Strays are taking the Grateful Tour into 2027, and the new North American leg is already drawing heavy demand. The Alabama band announced the extension on October 1, 2026, adding more than 30 arena and amphitheater shows that start January 22 at Lenovo Center in Raleigh and run through September 19 at Moody Center in Austin. Public tickets go on sale Friday, October 9 at 10 a.m. local time at redclaystrays.com/tour.
Presales have already opened. The OG Strays Fanclub window started October 5 at 10 a.m. local, the Verified Strays presale followed the same day at 1 p.m. local, and the Red Clay Strays app presale opened October 6 at 10 a.m. local. On recent headlining runs, the better floor and lower-bowl seats move first. Waiting until after the October 9 onsale usually means higher resale prices.
The 2027 dates support Grateful, the band’s third studio album, released June 5, 2026, through HBYCO Records/RCA Records. Rolling Stone called it “an urgent, timely record that stands toe to toe with anything coming out of the rock world,” according to the band’s tour announcement carried by Grateful Web.

Avery Anna covers most of the winter arena run. The Bends open the three Canadian dates. St. Paul & The Broken Bones join the Mobile hometown stand and most of the summer and fall shows. Support windows were confirmed in the MusicRow announcement.
Cities most likely to sell through first
Mobile is the clearest sellout risk. The band plays three nights, March 25–27, at the new Regions Arena, a roughly 10,000-capacity Gulf Coast building, with St. Paul & The Broken Bones on all three. That run is the grand-opening weekend for the venue and a hometown stand for a Mobile band. Three nights spread demand, but local fans usually clear the better seats before out-of-town buyers get a clean look.
Raleigh opens the leg on January 22 at Lenovo Center, the first announced 2027 date and the one Triangle fans have been waiting on. Columbia the next night at Colonial Life Arena is the easier backup if Raleigh inventory thins.
Chicago-area demand sits at Allstate Arena in Rosemont on January 28. Cleveland’s Rocket Arena on February 4 and Indianapolis’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse on February 5 are the other early Midwest arenas where lower bowl tends to move at onsale.
Summer sheds are the value window. Pine Knob in Clarkston on July 31, Fiddler’s Green in Denver on August 28, Walmart AMP in Rogers on September 9, and The Orion in Huntsville on September 11 usually have more lawn inventory than the winter arenas. Lawn tickets are the realistic cheap path if you can wait for a weather call.
The Los Angeles Greek on August 17 and the Berkeley Greek on August 12 are smaller rooms than the arenas. Those two, plus the Austin finale at Moody Center on September 19, are the late-tour dates most likely to jump on resale if primary inventory is thin.
How to buy without overpaying
Start at the official tour page, redclaystrays.com/tour. That page routes to the venue’s primary seller, usually Ticketmaster or AXS depending on the building. Primary is still the best shot at face value, especially during the October 9 onsale.
If you missed the fan-club and app presales, set an alarm for 9:55 a.m. local on October 9, log in before the queue, and have a payment method saved. Search the artist name, not a reseller ad. All-in pricing should show fees before you confirm.
VIP upgrades, when offered, are ticketless add-ons. A concert ticket still has to be bought separately. Current VIP details for active dates live at redclaystrays.vip. Typical packages on this tour have included a Q&A, a Stray Lounge with one drink ticket, a merch pack, a laminate, early merch access, and first entry. Do not buy a VIP upgrade unless the show ticket is already in your account.
Resale on SeatGeek, StubHub, and Capital City Tickets is the fallback after primary sells down. Compare all-in prices across two sites before you commit, and skip anything listed well above the primary get-in if the show is still days from selling out. Fan-to-fan transfer inside the original ticketing app is safer than a screenshot.
Ticket insurance generally runs about 5 to 10 percent of the order. It is worth it only if your plans are genuinely uncertain. Read the exclusions. Most policies do not cover a simple change of mind.
What a night looks like
The Grateful Tour is the band’s biggest headline run to date. The 2026 leg already hit TD Garden, Madison Square Garden, and Rogers Arena in Vancouver before the 2027 extension. Sets lean on Grateful — “Demons In Your Choir,” “People Hatin’,” “If I Didn’t Know You,” “Do Today,” and the title track — alongside earlier favorites. Arena shows run roughly two hours plus the opener. Amphitheater nights add lawn and a later curfew.
Seating strategy is simple. Floor and the first 10 to 15 rows of the lower bowl are the premium buy. Upper-level corners and the last rows of the 300s are the budget buy in arenas and still have a full view of the stage. At sheds, pavilion seats in the front half beat lawn if you want a reserved spot. Lawn is the deal if the forecast is clear and you do not mind standing.
FAQ
When do Red Clay Strays 2027 tickets go on sale? Public onsale is Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. local time. Fan-club, verified, and app presales ran October 5–6.
Who is opening? Avery Anna on most January through April dates, The Bends on the March Canadian shows, and St. Paul & The Broken Bones on the Mobile run and most July–September dates.
Are the Mobile shows sold out? Not announced as sold out. Three nights at a 10,000-cap room will still move faster than a standard one-off arena date.
Where is the tour finale? September 19, 2027, at Moody Center in Austin, with St. Paul & The Broken Bones.
Where should I buy? Official links at redclaystrays.com/tour. Avoid third-party ads that do not route through the venue.
The window that matters is this week. Friday’s onsale is the last clean shot at face value on the winter arenas. Mobile, Raleigh, the Greek dates, and Austin are the ones to grab first.
