Key Roster Highlights for 2026
- Quarterback: Joe Burrow (with veteran backup Joe Flacco) — Burrow is healthy and calling this the most talented roster of his tenure.
- Offense: Ja’Marr Chase, Chase Brown, and a strong supporting cast remain intact, giving Burrow plenty of weapons.
- Defense: Major upgrades including DT Dexter Lawrence (via trade), DE Boye Mafe, DT Jonathan Allen, and S Bryan Cook. These additions address previous weaknesses and create depth.
- Other Notables: Emerging talents and draft picks like edge rusher Cashius Howell add youth and upside.
The Bengals have built a more complete, balanced team capable of competing with the league’s best when healthy.
2026 Season Predictions
Analysts are bullish on Cincinnati, with many projecting 10-7 to 12-5 records. The team is favored in 15 of 17 regular-season games by some metrics — second-most in the NFL.
Optimistic Outlook (11-6 or better): A healthy Burrow, revamped defense, and home-field advantage lead to an AFC North title and playoff success, potentially a deep run or Super Bowl contention.
Realistic Outlook (9-8 to 10-7): Strong offense carries them through tough road games, but early-season tests and divisional parity could result in a wildcard berth. Slow starts have been an issue historically.
Playoff Chances: High if the defense gels quickly. Experts see them as a dark horse for a Super Bowl push.
