Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are back at the Mother Church for the annual fall residency: six nights at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville — October 15–17 and October 22–24, 2026, 8:00 p.m. each night. Tickets are on sale now through the Ryman and AXS. Artist site: jasonisbell.com/shows.
This is not a one-off. Isbell’s Ryman run is a yearly Nashville ritual — intimate room, pew seating, different opener every night. The 2,362-capacity hall sells in waves; Saturday nights tighten first. Official pages still list inventory on multiple dates, so cheap(er) seats are a which-night problem more than a “sold out forever” problem.
Announcement coverage: JamBase, Nashville Scene, Jambands.
Night-by-night (pick the cheap night, not just “a” night)
| Date | Night | Opener | Typical demand |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thu Oct 15 | Week 1 | Southern Avenue | Often the softest 8 p.m. Thursday |
| Fri Oct 16 | Week 1 | The Bo-Keys | Mid |
| Sat Oct 17 | Week 1 | Al Kapone & The Blues Rap Band | Tightest week-one night |
| Thu Oct 22 | Week 2 | Ben Nichols (Lucero) | Strong — Lucero crossover |
| Fri Oct 23 | Week 2 | Amy LaVere | Mid-high |
| Sat Oct 24 | Week 2 | Tony Thomas Three | Closer Saturday — usually priciest |
Showtime is 8:00 p.m. all six nights. Ford Lounge upgrades (food, open bar, Hatch poster) sit on the same Ryman event page and require a concert ticket.
Where to buy (official first)
- Primary: ryman.com/event/2026-jason-isbell and AXS
- Artist list / routing: jasonisbell.com/shows
- If official is picked over: Ticketmaster only if the date is listed there; otherwise StubHub, Vivid Seats, Capital City Tickets — compare all-in and confirm mobile transfer works in the AXS/Ryman app.
Presale was June 17, 2026 (code SUPER8); public sale June 19. Those windows are closed. You are in the leftover / official drop / verified-resale phase.
Do not buy a screenshot pew ticket off Facebook. Ryman entry is scanned inventory.
How to actually get the cheap seats
Shop Thursday first.
Thursday 8 p.m. pews are the value play on both weeks. Saturday balcony can cost what a Thursday main-floor cost at on-sale.
Check all six dates in one tab session.
Inventory moves independently. A “sold out” Saturday does not mean Thursday balcony is gone. Refresh official AXS maps, not just aggregator “from $X” banners.
Sit in the room, not the brand.
Ryman is pews and a short throw. Rear orchestra and lower balcony often sound better than a last-row “VIP” add-on. Avoid obstructed-view or extreme side pews unless the discount is real on the map.
Ford Lounge is not a cheap-seat hack.
It’s an upgrade on top of a ticket. Buy the concert seat first; add lounge only if the math still works.
Resale timing.
Ryman residencies often soften 7–10 days out on weeknights as plans change. Saturday usually does not. If you can be flexible on Oct. 15 or Oct. 22, wait-and-watch beats panic-buying a Saturday at 2× face.
Fees kill “cheap.”
A $79 face that becomes $115 after AXS/order fees is not a deal if Thursday official is $89 all-in. Always open checkout.
Ryman FAQ (this run)
Where: Ryman Auditorium, 116 Rep. John Lewis Way North, Nashville, TN 37219. Capacity about 2,362.
Entry: Mobile tickets in the official app. Screenshots fail when barcodes refresh.
Bags / security: Small bags; Ryman’s current clear-bag and prohibited-item list lives on ryman.com. No large professional cameras without creds.
Parking: Downtown garage + lot pricing spikes on Saturday residency nights. WeGo Star / bus / rideshare drop on 5th / Rep. John Lewis Way is usually faster than circling the building. Pre-book a garage if you’re driving in from outside the loop.
Will there be different setlists?
Historically yes across a multi-night Ryman stand — not a promise of no repeats, but six nights is why people buy two dates. Check setlist.fm after night one if you’re stacking shows.
Kids / all ages?
Ryman general policy is show-specific; assume a standard seated concert, not a festival GA pit.
Price reality (planning, not a quote)
There is no single public “cheap seat” number that holds for all six nights. Use this buying order:
- Official AXS map for Thu Oct 15 and Thu Oct 22
- Official Friday if Thursday pews you want are gone
- Saturday only if you need that opener or that travel day
- Verified resale last, and only with transfer into AXS
If a listing is hundreds over nearby official inventory on the same night, skip it.
Fast checklist
- Open Ryman event page + AXS for all six dates
- Sort by Thursday → Friday → Saturday
- Buy official if the all-in beats resale
- Screenshot the confirmation; tickets live in the app
- Book cancelable lodging near downtown — two-week residency weekends fill
- Re-check maps 10 days out if you still need a second night
